Detail showing sheet pile interlocks engaged. The distance between the two elements minus 2~3 mm must be filled with P-201 or A-30. The following details show the use of Adeka Ultra Seal by OCM in the interlock.



The gap is approximately 1/2" when the piles are fully extended. Approximately 3/8" thickness of P-201 or A-30 should prevent water penetration through the joint and yet allow easy driving of the piles.





Prepare interlocks by thoroughly removing any oils, dirt or loose rust. Use high pressure water wash or wire brush and complete cleaning by blowing with air.





When using P-201, trace socket and cut out "leveling" tool from stiff material such as PVC. Tool should leave approximately 3/8" bead of P-201 in the interlock when used as shown in the following photographs. When using A-30, level the pile close both ends and pour to a depth of approximately 3/8".





Apply a bead of P-201 approximately 3/8" X 7/8" (lay two 3/8" X 1/2" beads side by side). One gallon of P-201 or one gallon of A-30 will treat approximately 55 ~ 60 feet of interlock.





Smooth P-201 to the correct depth with the leveling tool. Try application on a sample piece of pile interlock before using on full sheets. You may have to modify the tool to get the correct depth. The pile does not have to be level when using P-201. Pile must be level when using A-30. Maintain the level until the A-30 is cured (1~2 days).

Driving detail. Always drive with the empty socket leading. Drive to final depth within 2 hours after interlock with sealant has come in contact with water.
